Reports to: Merchandise Manager

Position Summary:

The Prep Stylist assists with trafficking merchandise through the studio. This will include preparation of footwear, apparel, accessories, and other products for photo production. This includes but is not limited to steaming, hanging, cleaning, styling product, and moving boxes up to 50 lbs. This position works alongside other members of the prep team, as well as the merchandise coordinator to ensure internal and client standards for quality product care and presentation are met by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs sample style preparation that could include but is not limited to hanging, steaming, cleaning, and shaping to style guide specifications.
  • Documents merchandise issues such as, imperfections, incorrect article numbers, or wrong product type to Merchandise Coordinator or Controller depending on assigned project.
  • Distributes merchandise to all responsible parties throughout the photo process based on photo layouts and photo schedules, as well as collects merchandise after photo process is completed.
  • Executing product pulls from storage, reporting any missing product discrepancies to Merchandise Coordinator or Manager
  • Performs quality check for co-workers on the processes and procedures of product preparation, to go over style guides, and steaming techniques.
  • Assists with large product returns.
  • Assists with biannual audits of merchandise.
  • Attends pre-production and weekly meetings as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years general merchandising experience is required.
  • Knowledge of the photographic process such as reading and interpreting style guides is preferred.
  • High school degree or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring seamless execution through stellar organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to focus on a repetitive task. Reading and transcribing data, ability to distinguish between product numbers accurately and not transposing numbers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adhering to schedule and time requirements.
  • Solves non-routine problems in collaboration with his or her manager.
  • Demonstrated planning skills and the ability to prioritize using information around due dates, clients, internal resource skill sets and when to escalate for assistance and awareness.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a changing team.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedules.
  • Is respectful and courteous when interacting with others, a calm and collaborative demeanor is expected when working through conflict.
  • Experience using digital communication tools such as WebEx or Skype chat tools is desired.
  • Experience using ShotfFow & ProWorkflow.
  • Must have proficient basic math skills and ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Due to tall ladders being used, must feel comfortable with climbing ladders and heights.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this temporary position is $22 - $25 per hour, commensurate with experience and skills.
